Sustainability

Small Kane Architects is an advocate of responsible design. The firm is dedicated to incorporating sustainable practices that will improve energy efficiency, conserve materials and resources, safeguard water, enhance the design process, and improve indoor air quality.
In the stewardship of sustainable design, Small Kane works proactively with boards, commissions, and state legislators to promote environmentally-friendly design practices. Renee Hutcheson, AIA, LEED AP, has worked closely with regulators on the passage of Senate Bill 668, which requires state buildings to meet better energy efficiency and water saving standards. Along with Hutcheson, the firm has six LEED APs on staff to assist clients with compliance on new regulations and additional sustainable design opportunities available for their respective projects.
